Never received a bill and no balance on my account

I got into an accident a few months ago (crashed on my own). I had no medical coverage under my auto insurance. When I went to the ER, I told them I have no coverage. They said I still need to provide my insurance info, gave me paperwork to fill out, and told me to bring it back.

I called my auto insurance and they said they would send the hospital a letter. So I never filled out the paperwork the hospital gave me.

About a month has passed and I never received a bill. I called and they said I had zero balance. I checked my online account and nothing.

Two more months passed by and I found the paperwork the hospital gave me. It said it needed my auto insurance and medical as a backup within a few days of the visit.

Not sure what to do. I called my medical insurance and they received nothing. They said as long the hospital files it within a year, my auto insurance states they won’t cover it, and it’s in-network, my medical insurance most likely will cover it.

Should I call the hospital again explaining everything? Not even sure if they have my medical insurance on file.
