About to turn 26. Confused about a lot.

I just started a new job this week. I turn 26 in December. Open enrollment just started for the job. I’ve never once had to think about insurance since I’ve been under my moms. I don’t understand any of it.

The company I work for is pretty small, so I’m not sure if that contributes to anything.

I tried looking through old posts on here before posting but I’m just confusing myself more. HR has not been very responsive. They pay for a service through Rightway that is supposed to help and answer these questions, but they’ve been useless.

Please see description of 2 of the plans I had been looking at (these are the top 2 options) at the bottom of the post.

My parents don’t fully understand it all either. But my dad says I should do the PPO 1000 that has the $1,000 deductible since that’s lowest. Except I’d be paying $400 monthly for it. But I don’t even know what a “normal” or “average” deductible is. If $3000 would be good? I just need help understanding.

I’m also supposed to decide on if I want to enroll in FSA or not which i was going to, but then I can only enter my contributions for now until the end of November. I just want it for next year.

Up until this year I only ever needed to go to my annual appointments. I have a condition that I’ve been having to go to the doctors more often (gyne-oncologist). It shouldn’t take a terribly long time to get resolved as they plan to just move to the next step to remove the problem, but I guess I don’t know that for sure. I take 2 prescriptions monthly. If that’s relevant.

This isn’t even to mention dental and vision which I haven’t gotten to in this page by page set up.

I just need some advice or direction please. This stuff makes me anxious since it’s not like I’m making a ton of money that either plan is super affordable, and I’ll probably have to have help (from family).
