HDHP HSA vs. OAP Open Enrollment Decision

Would love some feedback. I am a sole provider, family with non-working spouse and 4 kids. Currently in open enrollment and have to make a choice between two plans. I’ve always done a PPO in the past, but we are switching carriers. My options are:

HDHP HSA Plan:
– $473 Per Month, split equally between semi monthly paychecks
– 80% Copay/Coinsurance
– 4k Deductible Individual
– 7.5k Deductible Family
– 14k OOP Max
– HSA Elig & Company will deposit first $500 into HSA

OAP Plan:
– $756 Per month, split equally between semi monthly paychecks
– $25 Copay
– 80% Coinsurance
– 2.5k Deductible Individual
– $4.5k Deductible Family
– 14K OOP Max
– No HSA

We don’t have chronic illnesses, but we inevitably have about one ER trip a year. This year it was me for my migraines (stroke like symptoms, but was fine), and prior it was for one of my kids and broken arm. I am almost 44, wife is similar in age. We are both generally healthy. I go to physical therapy for migraines/TMJ, and she sees the chiro regularly. Both are out of network so we just pay out of pocket.

I’ve always paid more for the bigger plan in the past because the gap wasn’t as huge, but the additional $300 a month saved is enticing t his year, given I could just roll the difference into the HSA, and roll the rest into my 401k in subsequent years.

Would love some feedback. Thanks!
