Hi! So in February of last year I went to a urologist. They did a check up and scheduled me for some additional tests. Long story short I wasn’t overly impressed with this doctor or how they wanted me to pay for everything up front and I canceled my appointments and never went back. I paid the bills for the visit and over the last year have been sent 2 or 3 eob for a lab that was out of network. The doctor I saw was covered under my insurance but this lab apparently wasn’t. I was not made aware of this and I didn’t authorize them to send my stuff to this out of network lab. I am confused as I said I have gotten two or 3 eobs but have yet to see an actual bill. This is stressing me out and I’m just wondering what I should do? I thought due to the no surprise act I couldn’t be billed and am not obligated to pay it. Please correct me if I am wrong. I should add that I am no longer under this insurance provider. Again what do I do, do I call my old insurance provider and try to pay this? Do I not do anything and hope I don’t see a bill. My concern is if I don’t do something they are going to start charging me on interest. But than again I shouldn’t be obligated to pay for it. I have lots of questions and no idea what I should do.
