Working with the Group for Autism, Insurance, Investment and Neurodiversity (GAIN)

BIBA attended a discussion on 15 June 2022 hosted by the Group for Autism, Insurance, Investment and Neurodiversity (GAIN) to discuss how, as an industry, we can cultivate success through the empowerment of neurodiverse talent.  Held at Zurich’s offices in London, industry leaders and CEOs gathered to discuss myth busting about neurodiversity, the creation of a hub of information, services and community to better understand how neurodiverse people operate and how we as an industry can be more welcoming, plus a possible future funding model for GAIN. Speaking at the event was Sir Robert Buckland MP for South Swindon, who played a key part in the Government’s autism strategy launched last year, and who offered the prospect of a further big initiative to help bridge the autism employment gap which was expected to be announced soon.

As a founder member of GAIN, BIBA has committed to accelerating and championing the benefits of neurodiversity through its membership of brokers and intermediaries.  As part of the 2022 BIBA Manifesto, it is hoped this joint initiative will bring about a meaningful change for all. It will seek to create opportunities for neurodiverse individuals to access and thrive in employment by bringing understanding and training to embed inclusive recruitment, adjustment and retention practices and, in addition accessible insurance advice.
