What is the difference between scheduled and non scheduled flights?

Scheduled = has a fixed schedule. It is done because of gate and airspace scheduling conveniences. Non-scheduled = does not have a fixed schedule. It may have been planned years in advance, but it’s flight is not predictable prior to the flight plan.
