Anyone able to share their experiences or tips about Temporary Health Insurance with me?

My family of 3 (myself, my wife, and my 6 month old daughter) are going to be in the US for the next 5 months or so. We just arrived, actually. We want to get a short term health insurance plan just so that we’re covered in the case of emergency. My daughter will also need 1 or 2 routine check ups with a pediatrician (hopefully not more, but you never know), but we’re assuming we won’t hit our deductible and we’ll be paying for those out of pocket.

Two providers I’ve found are Priority Health and Pivot Health. I’ve heard of Priority Health and as far as I know it’s a reputable insurance provider. I’ve never heard of Pivot Health in my entire life.

I was just wondering if anyone has ever had insurance, especially short term insurance, from either of those providers and if so, how was your experience? Or is there another provider you’d recommend?

I just don’t want to think I’m covered only to have accident happen or have my daughter get sick and find out that our insurance provider won’t pay for it once we’ve hit our deductible.

Any tips, warnings, or useful resources would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

By the way, we’re in Michigan and our zip code is 49506.
