Hi all,

I take Slynd as my birth control pill, skipping the placebos. My Dr. has stated they would like me to to continue to take this pill as it helps significantly with my migraines and also I can skip placebos and not have hormonal migraines or a "period". I've gotten a prior authorization for it. The company covering the pharmacy portion of my insurance, OptumRX is refusing to fully cover it saying it's now a nonformulated drug. They tried to say there's other mini pills I can take but they are all norethindrone.

Since Slynd has no generic, and no other mini pill is a drospirenone, are they required by law to cover these fully? I literally have argued on the phone with them and they absolutely refuse to.

I had literally no issues for two or so years but this year suddenly we've been switched to OptumRX and it's been literally miserable dealing with them. It was never nonforumlated and was always free for me to get.

I have Cigna as my insurance but any pharmacy related stuff is handled through OptumRX.
