Brief overlap between my plan and parents’ plan

I started a new job on Feb 1 and my health plan immediately kicked in. My parents took me off their plan, effective Feb 15. On Feb 10, I got a prescription for $300 at Walgreens. They billed my parents' insurance, which I did not realize until now, despite the fact that I gave them the card for my own plan.

My parents' insurance essentially negotiated the price of the medicine down to $200 through some agreement with Walgreens. It did not pay any more, so I paid the rest out of pocket. But, I now see that the medicine I got was on the list of 100% covered medications on my plan through my employer. I'd obviously like to get reimbursed for that.

It seems like my options right now are to go Walgreens and try to get them to cancel the claim with my parents' insurance and re-bill it to my company (I talked with them briefly on the phone and it seems like this will be rather difficult), or to submit a claim through my current insurer and have them go through the COB process.

Which should I do?
