EPO ($262) or HDHP ($150) w/ HSA $1000 bonus

EPO ($262) or HDHP ($150) w/ HSA $1000 bonus

My wife and I are currently reviewing our enrollment and we were wondering if switching from our current EPO plan to an HDHP w/ $1000 employer HSA contribution would be worthwhile.

Here is a link to a breakdown of both plans ($262 for EPO and $150 for HDHP) as well as a benefits estimate calculator from the benefits site which uses our current years medical costs to estimate the costs of both plans for 2024. https://imgur.com/a/8ajSIIT

Some quick health facts about us are that we have a 6-month old daughter who doesn’t have anything significant going on. My spouse has ADD and has a monthly visit with a $40 copay on the current EPO plan w/ $30 monthly copay for medication. Otherwise, we are generally just do our regular follow ups. We are both 33 years of age.

It seems to me that the HDHP w/ HSA plan may offer a small financial benefit over the EPO plan, but I’m not too familiar with if it is worth it.

Thanks for any and all help!
