Fear of getting kicked off insurance

I’m sorry if the flair is wrong or anything else is wrong, this is currently keeping me from sleeping. I should be scheduling top surgery either late this year or early next year. I’m struggling with the thought of telling my parents, because while I love them very much, I’m under 26 (not a minor) and still on my dad’s health insurance plan. I’m terrified that they might remove this health insurance from me in order to prevent me from getting top surgery. The surgeon I’ve chosen is covered by my current/ my dad’s insurance. The good news is, my employer offers the same insurance, though I don’t know if the specifics (gold/silver specific plans or whatever, I’m sorry I’m not familiar with them) is the same. Am I correct that if my surgery is before or after (and I don’t tell them until after) the open enrollment period that they wouldn’t be able to prevent me from getting it covered? If they do manage to kick me off, I’d be able to sign up right away for the same insurance through my employer, right? If that happened, would that delay my surgery date, or would it be possible to sign up right away and inform the surgeon’s office right away and keep on track? Do I have to fear my parents kicking me off, or is the worst they can do delay it?
