Feeling scammed by my health insurance.

located in NYC. signed up for metroplus bronze plus B2 and started looking for a new dentist because my old one retired. i started on the insurance’s own database of dentists, but every single one i call says they don’t take it. i called about 20 different ones from their site.

i figured let me try zocdoc. zocdoc says there are NO dentists in all of NYC that take it. at this point, i call the insurance. she gives me 4 dentists that she “confirmed take it” i call them all and none of them take it. i call the insurance back, she says she’ll send me an “internal list” that doesn’t pop up on their site. i get the list and it’s literally all the same dentists i already called from their site that said no.

i’m so confused how this is legal? what am i paying for? how can i be charged for something that i can’t use anywhere? i went back to the NY marketplace to look for a new insurance and this time i searched dentists BEFORE and again, there’s like no dentists that take those other insurances either. and i can’t even change to anything else regardless because it’s not open enrollment and apparently your insurance being a scam isn’t a valid reason to change early? i feel so cheated and scammed out of $500 a month and i don’t know what to do.
