How to change jobs and health insurance as a Type 1 Diabetic

Hello, I live in Michigan. I am trying to get out of the teaching profession and into another field as I am extremely burned out. I’d lose my single person Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance plan. The district that I work for does not offer cobra and they said that on the phone. Otherwise I’d pay the cobra plan and stay on for a few months until I find a new job.

I have to pay for Novolog insulin, continuous glucose monitor and insulin pump supplies for Type 1 Diabetes. How do I go about paying for an out of pocket plan deductible per month on the BCBS website. The highest one is $637.97 for a $2000 deductible and $8700 out of pocket max has been met with BCBS as I’d like to keep my same doctors. Should I call CVS for insulin, Dexcom for CGM and Tandem insulin pump company to see if they will accept this plan 637.97 plan before I quit and lose insurance?

If I am understanding correctly, would I pay 637.97 a month until I get a new job? The insurance plan would not kick in until I pay the whole $2000 deductible? Then I think it’s 80% covered for qualifying medical things. Maxing out at 8700$ for the whole year until 100% is covered. Am I missing something and reading that right? What would be your advise? Please be kind and constructive. I appreciate it.
