Insurance not covering any emergency room visit/ambulance ride.

Back in June I was drinking with friends at an event. I was on a new medication that you’re apparently not supposed to mix with alcohol. It doesn’t say this on the prescription bottle and I only found out after these events. Life lesson to always look up all side effects of new meds. (You don’t need to judge me on this, I feel stupid enough already about how I ended up there. I’m in my 30s and should’ve know better.) This ended up in me being extremely intoxicated after a few drinks and I ended up blacking out. One minute I’m dancing with friends, and the next minute I woke up in a hospital bed covered in puke (not my proudest moment).

I just got a bill from the ambulance for $2000. I checked my insurance app and there’s 3 charges from that day and it covered none of it apparently. The only bill I got so far was like $100 so I didn’t think anything of it. And apparently I still haven’t received one bill that’s gonna be like $700??? I just did the first part of an expensive dental procedure I’ve been saving up for and seriously cannot afford this right now.

I believe I was unconscious when I was loaded into the ambulance. I got separated from my friends at some point so I don’t even know who called the ambulance, but I know it wasn’t me. I haven’t called the insurance yet because I just wanna see if there’s anything I know or should/shouldn’t say to try to get them to cover more of this.
