Hello, and I’m sorry if this is not the correct subreddit for this kind of question. I live in Michigan, USA and had some testing done for ADHD. I had a total of 3 appointments – introduction, testing, and test review, but they were billing me for tons of appointments that never happened (like 6). They billed BCBS instead of BCN despite it saying that right on my card. Once I (finally) got that problem corrected, I get a final bill that still had some of the appointments listed. I inquired and got this response:

Subject RE: Billing & Payments Patient Message Hello, These dates of service are for the provider reviewing your testing results and writing reports. Please reach out if you have any additional questions. Thank you, LifeStance Health Billing Team —-Original Message— – – – Hello, I did not have appointments on 2/10/23 or 2/19/23. Why am I being billed for these? Thanks

Is this practice legal? Can they charge me charges and copays when I wasn’t there and never told me these were happening?

This company has been scummy from the beginning and I refuse to use them under any circumstances in the future.

Any help you can provide is appreciated.
