Laid off and trying to figure out healthcare for 2024

Hoping to crowdsource some wisdom. The situation. Laid off January 2023. Will have employer subsidized COBRA till November 2023. I’ve walked through the healthcare.gov “wizard” a few time trying to get an idea of costs and fear I’m making incorrect assumptions.

My details. Live in Virginia. Spouse earns 75k a year. 2 kids. The whole family is covered under my employer’s health plan. Myself and the 2 kids can go under my spouse’s plan when COBRA expires. It is somewhat expensive to add the kids, but then doubles in cost to add me (healthy 58 yo non smoker). We are all currently in good health where our largest health expenses over the years have been for sports related injuries. Seeking advice on my options for coverage in 2024. We have $160 k in savings and 1.5M in 401k. Kid’s college is funded, no car loans, and mortgage is $750 a month with $70k outstanding.

Anybody out there been down a similar path and have some advice?

Could I retire and find affordable healthcare for me and the kids and my wife takes her employer healthcare

Could I retire and just find affordable care for myself and have the wife and kids under her plan.

I could also find a less stressful lower paying job with benefits so as to not eat into savings

I could do side hustles making pocket money doing things I like.
