Not sure if this is the correct flair but hopefully it’s fine. I am an adult. I do not live with my parents or rely on them financially. I am a woman in her mid 20s living in Oklahoma.

So my mom is my health insurance agent. Generally speaking this has been very nice and convenient when I have questions or concerns and I have never had any issues with this setup. However I am looking into getting a procedure that I do not want her to know about.

I would like to get a bilateral salpingectomy however my mom really wants me to have kids and would NOT be happy knowing that I had this procedure done. She would also 100% tell my dad about it and he would be extremely upset and I do not want to have to deal with that. Since she’s my agent, if I got a surgery without telling her (if I am even able to get everything set up without her knowing) would she be able to find out by looking at my records or something? Is there any way I can keep her from finding out? Or is switching insurance agents the only way to keep it from her?

Thank you for the help!
