On My Estranged Father’s Health Insurance – Confused

Hey everybody. I have a weird predicament and I’m not really sure what to do. I’m pretty new to all of this, I recently graduated college and moved to another state. Here’s the deal. My dad has had me on his health insurance despite us not speaking in a few years. I was able to get a copy of my insurance card and I have a log in for my account online – access to info and all that, but I’m listed as living with my father. So my issue here is that I’m living in another state, now, and thank goodness open enrollment has begun because my health plan doesn’t cover anything out of state. I am going to get my own insurance, but for the next month I’m stuck on this plan. I’ve been having a lot of mental health issues and I was looking to see a therapist asap but I can’t because my insurance doesn’t cover anything here. I guess I’m at a loss. Do I call the insurance company and tell them what’s going on? Health insurance and this stuff with my dad has been so stressful and confusing and I feel like no one has been able to help because it’s such a weird situation.

TLDR: I’m stuck in an insurance plan for another state – is there a way I can get therapy without waiting until January for my new insurance to kick in?

Also open to suggestions for other options – affordable therapy or online counseling.
