Hi all,

28 M here. A few weeks ago I went to AFC urgent care in Denver because I had been feeling dizzy for roughly a month and at the time couldn’t get an appointment with my PC for 3 weeks. I paid a $75 copay and then within 15 minutes they took me back. They did all the basics (blood pressure, checked ears, etc) which took about 5 minutes. Soon after, the doctor came in and basically said I’m fine because I look young and healthy. She noticed that my left ear had some ear wax buildup. After everything she said she would send someone in to remove the wax. I was never once told that it would cost extra.

I received my bill today and this is how it looked.

Total: $360 Plan Discount: $60 Total Owed: $300 ($225 Office visit, $75 clean ear)

I didn’t realize 20 minutes of my time would cost $300. I guess I’m going to have to live off ramen for several weeks lol. Wish my employer had a better insurance than Aetna 🤮
