I’m not sure what flair to put this as, but tldr; not policy holder, I’m the child of them, am I even able to call them to ask stuff without said parent? Rest of post is for context.

So I was given papers to drop off for my Adderall prescription last time I went to the doctor. I finally used one and now I’m having to deal with prior authorization bullshit AGAIN.

Monday of last week: Went to pharmacy, got told I need prior authorization. Call doc office, get answering machine. So then I use the doc office app to request my refill.

Wednesday of last week: Request denied. Call again, answering machine again, still no call back. Request again through app with explanation, no answer.

Friday of last week: Call again, answering machine TWICE, the second time I called I just bitched them out from frustration. Still no answer onbthe app, and they’re closed weekends.

Monday of THIS WEEK: Call pharmacy, ask to try again. Nope. Call doc office, answering machine. Again. Still no answer on app.

I’m so tired, frustrated, and done. Wtf do I even do at this point? This just keeps happening, and I have ZERO pills. Every time I get to teetering on normalcy this shit happens AGAIN, and AGAIN, AND AGAIN.

Last time this happened, pharmacy blamed doc office, doc office blamed insurance, insurance blamed doc office. I’m not the policy holder on my insurance. It’s my step father’s, and we aren’t exactly on the greatest of terms. Am I even able to call them and ask what’s up? What do i even ask??
