Problem with Oscar Insurance…

I stupidly chose Oscar Insurance as my new provider back in December on the Health Marketplace and the policy began on 1/1/22 and covers just myself. I have not been to the doctor at all this year and have never even signed on with one of their doctors. Oscar notified me of claims from February that were not mine from a doctor in a city I don’t live in. They say they’ve verified with doctor’s office that my name does not show up in their records, yet the claims still show up under my name in Oscar’s system. So how is that possible? Person goes to doctor on 2 separate dates. Person presents Oscar insurance card. Doctor files 2 claims with Oscar. Oscar pays 1 and declines 1. I would’ve thought it was a typo maybe on insurance policy number, but even if it was that simple, Oscar can’t or won’t figure it out. And they refuse to show me the original claims from the doctor’s office which must have someone else’s name on them! Because I could not resolve this with them and fearing they would keep adding claims to my policy, I cancelled them with the help of the Health Marketplace. And btw, if anyone knows how to rate or review them somewhere that will let people know about this before choosing to purchase insurance from them, let me know.

Now 2 months after cancelling the policy, Oscar notified me today that same doctor refiled on the claim from February that had been denied and Oscar denied it again. Plus Oscar added a new $16k claim also from February from a hospital in same area as that doctor. That claim was paid except for a small amount. Now I’m worried that whatever illness that unknown person was suffering from will be attributed to me in the future. They say all 4 claims have been turned over to the fraud division, but I’m beginning to wonder if they aren’t the ones pulling the fraud.
