2023 Honda Pilot

Overview

An all-new generation of Honda’s three-row Pilot SUV is on its way for the 2023 model year. Details are still hazy, but the company has released a teaser photo of a camouflaged TrailSport variant on a distant rocky mountainside, which makes us think the Pilot will be going for a more rugged vibe this time around. We have no details yet on the 2023 Pilot’s available powertrains, but traditionally, the mid-size crossover has been offered with V-6 power. Honda has said recently that it plans to focus more on hybrid powertrains, so we may see the company drop in a partially electric setup here as well. The current model is powered by a 280-hp V-6, so either way, it stands to reason that the new one will be at least as powerful. It might even get a version of the TLX’s turbocharged V-6 to keep up with more powerful class rivals like the Ford Bronco and Jeep Grand Cherokee. All-wheel drive will likely be an option on most models, but we expect the Pilot to remain on a front-wheel-drive-based platform.

What’s New for 2023?

The Pilot will be entirely redesigned for 2023, complete with updated styling to match the newest models in the Honda lineup, such as the smaller CR-V SUV and the Civic compact sedan and hatchback. We expect to see the production model debut in fall 2022 and go on sale in early 2023.
