Sometimes you can tell where something happened without ever being told outright. Such is the case with this car crash that left two vehicles inside an abandoned Boston Market. Where did this happen? You guessed it. Massachusetts, baby.

Saugus, Massachusetts police say they got a call on Monday night about a collision on the northbound side of Route 1, according to Boston.com. First responders found a Volvo SUV and a Toyota Prius inside the front of a shuttered Boston Market restaurant. Police found a 62-year-old man inside the Volvo, and the Toyota was unoccupied. Investigators believe the man may have lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the Prius parked in front of the restaurant.

The man is now possibly facing a slew of charges including negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating with a suspended license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and possession of a class A substance. Police tell Boston.com they beleive it is either fentanyl or heroin. He is expected in court once charges are filed.

The man was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with non-life-threatening injuries, according to WCVB5 ABC. No one else was injured in the crash, but the Prius owner did have to witness his shit getting fucked up.

A Danvers couple said that the owner of the Toyota told them he was walking back toward his car after getting out of work and saw the crash happen.

“He said that he just saw the car coming around the corner at a high rate of speed, that there were no brakes — that it just came flying around the corner and ‘Bam!’” said Colleen Tucker.

“Hit his car and sent his car and the other car into the building,” said Dave St. John. “He was assuming it was probably a medical condition by the way the car was going.”

The building’s owner tells WCVB5 that the Boston Market closed a few months ago, but it was set to reopen as a different chicken restaurant in the new year. Unfortunately, the crash pushed those plans back at least six months.

It’s almost unbelievable, but this is apparently not the first time a car has crashed into this Boston Market. Back in October of 2022, a car crashed into it, causing extensive damage. I guess everyone just really wants that rotisserie chicken and cornbread. I get it.
