Hoping to get some insight on a situation i'm currently in: My mother passed away last june and her death was labeled and accidental drowning on her death certificate. She had a new policy, that she made payments on so it was NOT still in underwriting, but was still under that 2 year window. So, we've been waiting since around November since the death certificate took a long time to come in. we've confirmed that the insurance company has all the investigation documents from the doctor.

in december, they said to call back in 2 weeks to see where it's at, and we were told it's still waiting decision. We called again two days ago and the same thing. So apparently they have already gathered everything and are "waiting on a decision". We have not gotten our lawyer involved yet but this seems predatory and i just wanted some insight on what the issue could be.
