Falkirk community rally round to pay for funeral of woman with no life insurance - Daily Record

The devastated children of a Falkirk woman who died after contracting coronavirus have set up a fundraiser to give their mum the send off she deserves.

Anne Gray passed away in intensive care on Sunday March 6, at Forth Valley Royal Hospital following a “heroic” battle with the virus , aged just 49.

Unfortunately, she had no life insurance or savings leaving her son and daughter in limbo.

Daughter Stacey Chalmers, 29, has since started a GoFundMe, which has raised almost £2,000 from donations from locals to go towards funeral costs.

Stacey says that it’s the final thing she and her brother, Dylan, can do for their beloeved mum, so they want to give her the perfect send off.

Stacey said: “My brother and I are totally devastated to be writing this.

“Sadly we lost our beautiful mum on Sunday, March 6, at 6pm after a heroic battle with Covid-19.

“She fought with courage and determination, but sadly it was just too much for her.

“Our mum didn’t have life insurance as she was only 49 years old and she should have had many more years to live her life.”

Stacey explained that her mum didn’t have life insurance or savings because she spoiled both children and her three cherished grandchildren.

She added: “She also didn’t have much in the way of savings as she spent what she had to spoil both us and her three cherished grandchildren.

“We would like to give her the send off that she so deserves and would greatly appreciate any help towards doing this for her.

“It is the final thing we can do for our mum and we would like it to be perfect.

“We thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts for any donations.
