Heather Nagengast to Lead Penn Mutual Career Agency System

Venerable acquired a closed block variable annuity business for Voya in 2018, and it is also administering a large block of Voya fixed and non-variable indexed annuities.

The company has promoted:

Jonathan Summers to senior vice president, head of hedging strategy, from head of financial planning and analysis for the Voya closed block variable annuity business.
John Grove to vice president, head of hedge reporting, from senior actuary and head of valuation at the Voya closed-block variable annuity business.

Venerable has also announced promotions of two other employees, who originally came over from Voya but who have had Venerable titles for the past few years:

Dao Jiang to vice president, head of valuation, from assistant vice president and senior actuary manager.

Allison Proud to vice president, communications, from assistant vice president, communications.

MetLife

MetLife says Lyndon Oliver will succeed Kishore Ponnavolu as its regional president for Asia.

Ponnavolu is returning to the United States.

Oliver has been MetLife’s treasurer and head of strategy. He has also lived and worked in Hong Kong. At one point, he was chief financial officer for the AIG Life Cos. in Japan and Korea.

In other MetLife personnel moves news:

John Hall will take over from Oliver as MetLife’s executive vice president and treasurer. He has been a senior vice president and global head of investor relations.

Dimitri Lorenzon will become head of strategy for MetLife and chief financial officer for the company’s global technology and operations organization. He has been senior vice president and head of strategy, product and marketing for MetLife Japan.

Brian Sciortino will become senior vice president of operations at MetLife’s Versant Health managed vision care subsidiary. He was vice president of operations in the global technology and operations organization at the parent company.
