Life Insurance for Disabled 58 year old.

I have no clue what I am doing. I am trying to get life insurance for my dad who is 58 years old and disabled. I would be paying for the plan. I called Prudential and was straight up denied when I said my dad was 58, disabled with no income. Something about he would be denied during the underwriting process or something like that. I honestly don’t know if it was the “disabled” or the “no income” that spooked the agent. I know I said “no income” but my dad does recieve disablity payments – I just didn’t what his income to be a factor since I am the one that will be paying the premiums.

I guess I am wondering how hard will it be to get him life insurance? I would like to get at most a 30k policy but anything helps I guess. He’s not terminal or anything like that. He did have life insurance through his employer but lost his job back in 2018 when he became disabled. I am his only child so I will be the one that handles his death and I just want to be prepared which is why I am starting now.
