AXA UK has become the first insurance company to achieve the Age-Aware Accredited Employer status from 55/Redefined, an employer focused organisation supporting businesses on age inclusivity.

The new accreditation demonstrates AXA UK’s ongoing commitment to implementing age-inclusive policies and is testament to the company’s belief that employees should be able to progress whatever their background, heritage, lifestyle or life stage.

As part of the accreditation, AXA UK is pledging to ensure the recruitment process remains inclusive and accessible for all, including those over the age of 50. The company will also continue to encourage existing and potential employees to stay working for longer.

To support its over-50s workforce, AXA UK is already offering training opportunities, including apprentice programmes targeting the re-skill of those over 50s with a combination of practical training and study. What’s more, in 2022 AXA UK became an accredited Menopause Friendly Employer and introduced a new policy and support guide to help not only those experiencing menopause, but also their colleagues and families.

“We’re delighted that AXA UK has partnered with 55/Redefined and become an Age Accredited employer, confirming their commitment to inclusivity in their organisation for over-50’s talent. AXA UK shares our vision that the workforce must have a whole view of age ranges to truly understand the needs, wants and concerns of every age group across all our stakeholders. We look forward to working together.” – Lyndsey Simpson, CEO at 55/ Redefined
