The CCI is the only dependent medical research institute in Australia wholly dedicated to curing childhood cancer.

“By getting involved in this event, I’ve learned that while 8 in 10 children who are diagnosed with cancer do survive, they are often left with life-long side effects caused by the very treatment that saved their life, including infertility,” Jarman said. “Many of the treatments given to children are the same as what adults with cancer receive, so it’s very intense on their little bodies.

“Cancer kills more children than any other disease – the work of the CCI is critical in creating improved treatments and hopefully even a cure. Achieving that takes a great deal of investment, and that’s why we felt compelled to get involved.”

You can donate to the Crawford team at the CCI website here.

“We are calling on the insurance industry to give whatever they can to support this very worthy cause,” Jarman said. “I am a father, and more recently, I became a grandfather to twins – I simply cannot imagine being told your child has cancer.”
