Gallagher names insurance strategic relationships chief

20 March 2023

Gallagher Re CEO James Kent will take up a new role with parent company Gallagher as CEO Global Insurance Strategic Relationships.

The US-based global broker says Mr Kent will be responsible for establishing and driving the framework that determines how Gallagher connects with its major strategic partners in the (re)insurance ecosystem, including further investment in capital advisory and portfolio solutions.

Mr Kent will report jointly to Gallagher Global Brokerage CEO Tom Gallagher and CFO Doug Howell, and following the necessary transition period Tom Wakefield will succeed him as Gallagher Re CEO.

“[He] has done an outstanding job leading and integrating Willis Re into Gallagher, which has Gallagher Re primed for continued growth and innovation,” Mr Gallagher said.

“The newly formed global role will bring a single point of contact to Gallagher’s carrier relationships, to support growth ambitions across our core trading partnerships.”
