Vesttoo has added another senior capital markets expert to its growing Advisory Board, recruiting former Credit Suisse advisor Dr. Sanjiv Sobti who has a long history on Wall Street.

Sobti worked at a string of Wall Street investment banking houses, including Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, J.P. Morgan and Bear Stearns.

He then co-founded FIRE Capital, a private equity fund investing in Indian real estate development and at the same time became a Senior Adviser to Credit Suisse.

He is also an independent board member of BankUnited, the NYSE-listed bank holding company.

This year he also took on a role as a Venture Partner in Altai Ventures’ second FinTech Venture Fund, assisting the company on its investments in and incubation of early stage FinTech companies.

His more than 35 years of Wall Street related experience and of serving as a key advisor to managements and boards, acorss strategic business combinations and capital market transactions, will now assist Vesttoo as it continues to build out its technology-led proposition in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) marketplace.

Specifically, Vesttoo expects Sobit will assist Vesttoo’s leadership in growing its investor network and growing its AI-powered risk transfer platform.

“Dr. Sobti’s Wall Street experience and knowledge are unmatched, and our advisory board will benefit greatly from his insight,” explained Yaniv Bertele, CEO and Co-Founder of Vesttoo. “His track record in corporate finance and the capital markets speaks for itself. We are excited to have him on the Vesttoo team.”

“We’re extremely honored to have Dr. Sobti join the ranks of Vesttoo’s advisory board,” added Jacques Aigrain, Chairman of Vesttoo’s Advisory Board. “Dr. Sobti joins a diverse and global board of advisors and will add his unique perspective, built on years of experience, to expand the company’s successes in creating Life and P&C insurance-linked investment products.”

“Vesttoo’s take on insurance-linked investments is a refreshing update to a sector that very much needs it,” Dr. Sanjiv Sobti commented on his appointment. “They have combined a much-needed financial product with a solid strategy for growth. I am happy to be a part of their vision to bridge the gap between the insurance and capital markets.”

As Vesttoo continues to build-out its insurance-linked investment offering, we recently interviewed Portfolio Manager Rob Hauff who explained how Vesttoo is working to unlock new categories of insurance and reinsurance risk for capital market investors.
