Being persuaded into more expensive health care option. Is there anything we can do?

Long story short both me and my wife had some recent health things come up.

I got poked in the eye and had a corneal abrasion. Went to urgent care, made sure no major damage was done to my eye, and got recommended to go see an eye doctor. They told me to go to their vision center in the hospital.

The doctor was great and gave good care. They did not tell me since I saw her in the hospital it was going to be an extra $350 for a facility fee. I don’t think a service fee is that high for a typical doctor office visit outside of the hospital??

My wife had a miscarriage scare recently. We first went to urgent care and right up front they told us there in not much they would be able to do and that we would have to go to the ER. We said we’d just go straight to the ER but they insisted we still go through the procedure at the urgent care. They also assured us that we would be reimbursed the copay, which we were. They took a pregnancy test then sent us to the ER. When we get all the bills back we get a bill for the urgent care as well. So even though we insisted on going to the ER right away due to urgent cares statement we were still charged. Thankfully my wife and baby are okay but the billing thing is still frustrating.

Is there anything we can do to complain about this and get reimbursed our urgent care visit for my wife? Or are we stuck with the bill? The hospital has financial assistance but we won’t qualify. It’s more of the principal than the bill itself..
