Will my health insurance cover jumping off a train (not suicidal)?

A few months ago I made the dumb decision of hopping on a freight train without thinking it through. It’s always been a bucket list item of mine to train surf, but when I realized the train would not be stopping soon and I didn’t want to spend the night potentially riding it to another state, I decided to jump off (the other option was call the police and probably get arrested for trespassing). Once again, was not trying to harm myself, just the result of a series of silly decisions. The train wasn’t going too fast (probably like 15mph), but I lost consciousness briefly upon hitting the ground and was left with pretty nasty looking (but not severe) face injuries. At the hospital they made me do a CT scan and some other minor tests, totaling to a few thousand dollars.

I’m an international student from Canada covered under my university’s health insurance. Should I be honest when describing what happened? Will they deny my claim because technically the injury was the result of something illegal?

Thanks!
