Employees from QBE North America have teamed up with the nonprofit organization Tech Goes Home to conduct a free educational webinar to promote Internet safety and bolster digital equity.

The “Be Safe Online” webinar was hosted by ten QBE technology service team members, including head of cyber consulting Jacob Thampi and head of IT operations Taleen Armen.

Founded in 2000, Tech Goes Home is dedicated to bridging the digital divide for residents hailing from historically underserved communities. It facilitates access to digital devices and network connectivity and provides training in leveraging digital resources effectively.

QBE North America has been supporting Tech Goes Home for three years. The partnership was formed through QBE Foundation.

Tech Goes Home CEO Dan Noyes said QBE’s ongoing support has been instrumental in providing individuals and families with “the tools and knowledge to succeed in this digital world.”

Aside from hosting the Internet safety webinar, QBE North America also donated a selection of gently used computers for use by Tech Goes Home partners.

“QBE is focused on creating resilient and inclusive communities,” said Steve Gransbury, QBE executive sponsor and head of specialty and residential insurance. “We appreciate the opportunity to help further Tech Goes Home’s vision for digital equity.”

“While underwriting performance was challenged by catastrophe events, we are encouraged by our ongoing business momentum and remain confident in the outlook,” said group chief executive Andrew Horton.
